MOVEMENT THERAPY

Are you breathing correctly? Does your shoulder hate external rotation? Is your back doing all the work? Do your knees hurt when squatting? or maybe you’re hitting a plateau in your training and are constantly having nagging mobility issues pop up?

Poor posture and movement pattern dysfunction are something we learn over time, and is something that can be improved with treatment and rehab. The better position you’re in, the less stress your muscles, joints and ligaments are under. The way we move, work, sit, walk all comes into play. By understanding your own body, you can move towards being stronger in better positions.

Movement therapy offers a holistic approach of rehabilitative/corrective exercise, Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) and strength training which can be used in conjunction with Remedial Therapy as an effective way to prevent injury and restore function to your muscles and joints.

A full musculoskeletal assessment is performed at our first session to identify movement pattern dysfunctions and any imbalance that predispose an individual to injury. This will helps us identify your strengths and weaknesses, which enable us to create a program that is targeted to your individual needs.

We work with you, one-on-one, to show you the value of movement and its relationship to your body, so you can take ownership over your health. We want to help you discover freedom and efficiency in movement, to ensure longevity and ability to enjoy the highest quality of life possible.

FUNCTIONAL RANGE CONDITIONING (FRC)

FRC is end-range strength and mobility training for your joints based on scientific methods and research. It was developed by world-renowned musculoskeletal and human movement specialist Dr Andreo Spina.

FRC improves your USABLE ranges of motion that you may have the potential for but not necessarily be able to access currently.

The aim is, to decrease your risk of injuries when moving your body under load, which is what you do while lifting weights, or when carrying out physical work.

The more mobility you have, the more ABILITY you have to build strength. This combination of mobility and strength training fills the gap between rehab and performance training to build a body that is strong, bulletproof and able to confidently adapt to new challenges, sports and activities.

REHABILITATIVE/CORRECTIVE EXERCISE

Rehabilitative and Corrective exercises are an important part of reducing aches and pains, as well as reaching fitness objectives.

Exercise progressions and protocols to develop strength, range of motion, re-educate the neuromuscular system in order to address the underlying causes of dysfunction and pain.

Our focus and intention is to find the areas that aren’t working enough and train and challenge them. As we do that, we want to release and relax the areas that are working too much with the end result being a more balanced, functional, and mobile body.

By establishing a whole and balanced body with a stable foundation, you have an opportunity to break out of any pain cycles, move with more ease and become stronger and more resilient.
